PITTSBURGH — Matthew Morrison from the mega popular TV show “Glee” spoke at two Pittsburgh colleges in support of Pennsylvania gubernatorial candidate Dan Onorato on Saturday.Morrison, who plays Will Schuester on “Glee,” spoke to students at Carnegie Mellon University and Point Park University.He was accompanied by Allegheny County Council representative Rich Fitzgerald and Congressman Mike Doyle. Both politicians and Morrison addressed the importance of youth voting.Morrison briefly spoke about “Glee.” When asked to sing at Point Park, Morrison did a little dance instead.”Glee” airs on Fox and focuses on a high school show choir in Ohio. The show and its music has taken off incredibly. In 2009, the cast had 25 singles on the Billboard Hot 100, the most by any artist since The Beatles had 31 songs on the chart in 1964.Morrison is a California native and attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Before “Glee,” he starred in a number of Broadway and Off-Broadway shows. He recently won a Satellite Award for Best Actor in a Series, Comedy or Musical.Onorato is the current Chief Executive of Allegheny County. He will face Republican Tom Corbett in the general election.Source
