'Glee' star Matthew Morrison to tour this Spring!

Glee star Matthew Morrison, aka Mr. Schuester, is finishing up his solo album and is preparing for a tour once the hit Fox series wraps its second season. “I’m going to be touring in the hiatus,” Morrison tells EW. “I’m gonna go all over the world actually. I start band rehearsal in two weeks when we go on our little Christmas break.” Morrison won’t be the only Glee star performing for audiences: the younger cast will recreate their very successful concert show in the UK and Ireland. Meanwhile, Morrison says that his album, due in May according to the actor, is just about finished. “We’re almost done,” he admits. “We have like two more songs to record and then it’s off to the mixing stages. I’m really really happy with it and I can’t wait for people to hear it as well.”

'Glee's' Matthew Morrison is Going on Tour!!
"Glee's" Matthew Morrison, who just received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Comedy or Musical Series, is also planning a world tour for his solo album.

"I go right into rehearsals after Christmas," Morrison explained to "Extra," who was on hand to help celebrate the actor's nomination. "This is the only time I have off, really, so that's why we're kinda getting it in now. When 'Glee' goes on our hiatus in April, I'm gonna start doing a big tour."

And what about getting all those Globe nominations? "I feel pretty great. It was a great morning. I'm very excited for everyone. It's such an ensemble show, to be individually recognized for all of us is really great, especially for Chris Colfer, because this is his first Golden Globe nomination. I'm very excited for him!"

Matthew reacts to Golden Globes nomination and talks of the Suberbowl episode!

Matthew Morrison's gut reaction to being nominated for a Best Actor in a Comedy Golden Globe? "Why do they have to announce these things at 5:30 in the morning?" jokes the groggy star.

Kidding aside, Morrison says the ongoing coronation of Glee is a testament to the show's writers. "TV really is a writer's medium, and they are just so amazingly consistent," he tells USA TODAY's Marco R. della Cava. "They allow us to continue to live up to the public's high expectations."

Morrison says taking on the Donald O'Connor role in Glee's version of Make Them Laugh from Singing In The Rain caused him to push his boundaries. "That was the biggest joy so far," he says.

Though that may well be eclipsed by the episode the cast is currently shooting. "We're doing our Super Bowl show now, and it will be a wild and crazy episode." How so? "I can tell you that it will have, let's see, football, zombies...and Michael Jackson could be involved." Sounds thrilling.
